2023 Ford F-150 FAQ

What Is the Towing Capacity for the 2023 Ford F150?

Whatever you need to haul, the 2023 Ford F150 can get the job done. The newest version of the pickup has a towing capacity of up to 14,000 pounds and a maximum payload capacity of 3,013 pounds, allowing you to lug heavy loads with ease. Whether you're planning a simple outdoor adventure or a long camping trip, the F150 has all the power you need to haul campers, gear, and small trailers. Not only does the new model boast the best maximum tow ratings, but it also comes with an array of intelligent features to hitch and maneuver more easily.

These features include an available smart hitch to help you better distribute the weight in your trailer, first-in-class onboard scales that make it easier to estimate payload weight, and a smart trailer tow connector that informs you if your trailering lights go out. The truck also boasts a dynamic hitch assist to make attaching your trailer a breeze. When properly equipped, the F150 offers best-in-class towing capabilities.

Does the 2023 Ford F150 Have a Manual Transmission?

The 2023 model year doesn't offer the F150 with a manual transmission. Each engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic, no matter which trim you choose. In fact, Ford phased out manual transmissions in 2008 to offer drivers better gas mileage. The F150 has many engine options, including a 290-horsepower 3.3-liter V-6, 400-horsepower 5-liter V-8, and a 325-horsepower twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6. A 400-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 and a 250-hp 3.0-liter diesel V-6 are also available on the higher trims.

The F150's new first-ever hybrid powertrain includes a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine with a 1.5-kWh battery pack. It churns out 430 total horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque. The raw power combined with improved gas mileage means the F150 can do more with less and provide up to 700 miles of driving range. You can also choose between rear- and four-wheel drive on any of the available powertrains, and the top Raptor trim comes standard with four-wheel drive. It's the ideal choice if you're looking to maximize your speed.

2023 Ford F-150 Trim Options and Configurations

The newest Ford F150 is available in eight exciting trims: the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited, Tremor, and Raptor. Four-wheel drive is standard on the Tremor, Raptor, and Limited trims and optional on all other trims. Ford's versatile four-wheel-drive configuration gives your truck the strength to tackle a range of weather conditions confidently. Ford's two-speed automatic four-wheel-drive systems also allow you to select different modes, depending on your terrain and driving conditions.

The F150's drive modes allow you to switch between Normal, Eco, Sport, Tow, Slippery, and Trail, depending on the road conditions and your preferences. Four-wheel drive trims also offer Deep Snow, Sand, and Mud options for more extreme terrain and weather. In addition to power windows, power door locks, keyless entry, and power heated side mirrors, the F150 now comes standard with an electric parking brake, sporty black bumpers, and a rear bed light for additional visibility.

What's New With the 2023 Ford F150?

With a sleek aluminum body, turbocharged powertrains, and an array of new features designed for convenience, the pickup welcomes a new year and has much to offer. The new hybrid option is sure to appeal to both environmentally conscious drivers and anyone looking to save at the pump. Ford's electric version of the F150, the Lightning, is also back with a few minor upgrades.

Cab sizes vary slightly by trim, but the F150 offers plenty of flexibility, whether you need to fit in a whole work crew or just your family. Not much has changed from last year when it comes to safety features, and the F150 still has Ford's suite of driver-assistance technologies. Automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection comes standard, while lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assistance and adaptive cruise control are available.
